The Youth Museum to Honor Cobb County Sheriff Bill Hutson
The Youth Museum is proud to honor Sheriff Bill Hutson, one of its benefactors, with a Barbecue Benefit. The benefit takes place on Saturday, May 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Youth Museum. Tickets are $50 per person, and include a barbecue dinner and bluegrass music by the group Broadriver. All proceeds from the benefit will be used to continue the wonderful work of The Youth Museum.
Bill Hutson, who has served as Sheriff of Cobb County for the past 26 years, is a very special friend of the Museum. Each year Sheriff Hutson organizes his annual Corn Boilin’, and a portion of the proceeds benefits The Youth Museum. It is through his great efforts that the Museum is able to continue to provide school children with an imaginative, interactive learning experience.
The Youth Museum has served the children and adults of Cobb County and surrounding areas for over 30 years, accommodating approximately 15,000 visitors each year. Students are able to participate in the tours, wearing period costumes and acting in roles, which depict historical events. The current exhibit Journeys into New Worlds features the Vikings’ exploration of North America, the Jamestown Colony, and the Lewis & Clark expedition.
For more information or to purchase tickets, please call The Youth Museum at 770-427-2563. The Youth Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
